build your own narrative by the fix studios
All you know about Western Millennials does not matter when you hear about African Millennials, they are much more radical in their voices to especially shape the society within their own culture and heritage.
The vastness of Social Media displayed an unknown and attractive platform of freedom which has not been that obvious and available for a generation before. The question of identity and development of the own personality arises once again although the generation has to fear about religious punishments. Would our western generation be that fearless and loud? The demand for an own narrative could not be more important and apparent than it is right now. With the goal of rewriting the systems and challenging the worlds view from being stigmatized to an open-minded and modern society.
The Fix store concept is based on building an own narrative through the perspective of an outsider with local roots – bridging modern sensibility of the Fix to the established S-A culture.
The fast nature of The Fix offers a modern point of view to break boundaries within the S-A roots. It contradicts and provokes the way you feel about your own identity.
The Fix is a platform of self discovery - the more you know about yourself, the more obvious things become, “you have to know the truth and seek the truth and the truth will set you free in your narrative”.
The Fix Studios draws inspiration for its store design from the Memphis movement and industrial aesthetics.
The Memphis style aesthetic is based on the principle of being loud, colourful, carefree, playful and consciously naive. With a striking blue colour in store playfully combined with moving fixtures to create space for The Fix’s weekly events, it is conveying a carefree and spontaneous atmosphere.
The combination of cutting edge and organic flourishes such as aluminium wall panels, industrial bright lightning, decayed flooring and lush plants create an environment with a progressive design identity.
The Fix Studios transforms its space into not a store, but a stage or platform, a meeting point to make connection with people your share interests with.
